I'm thinking of picking up a couple first stages and a couple second stages for a new doubles set-up. I was reading the description of the first stages and there's one for WARM water and a different one for COOL or COLD water.

I was just curious what the definition of "warm" and "cool or cold" is. I've never really thought of socal as cold water....but it's definitely not warm either. What's the best first stage for 50F (maybe high 40's at depth) water?

in Europe they have specific ratings for each reg based on CE testing. here it isn't required, plus technique makes a huge difference. I would recommend under 45 f to get a cold, generally speaking.
