I've made reservations at the pavillion lodge for some midweek diving. But now after doing some more reading on this site it seems like there are some other places better suited to divers... I know there are many of you who are regulars. Any advice?

We like the PL. Been there several times. They are located in the middle of town, on the strand. They offer free baggage shuttle to and from the Express terminal. They have a storage room for your dive gear. It's clean, has free internet connection in the rooms, the rooms were re-done about a year ago. Great beds. I think you will be pleased.

My second choice is the Atwater.

Way down the list, when on a budget, is the Hermosa Hotel - funky and cheap.

Have you checked the Catalina FAQ thread? It offers a lot of info on coming out here from a visitor's perspective (things a resident like myself probably wouldn't think to mention).
