is there a guideline as to how tight the neckseal should be? I know the manual for the aqua-pro plus says leave at least four rings, we only took two off, but it still feels really tight. I don't want to make it to loose so, any advice?

you shouldn't pass out

keep in mind the seal will "relax" under water, and with wear and tear, it will relax some more, so it's ok to have it a bit tight at first (but not enough to give you a headache)

Thanks Andy, That has never happened, just when I'm on the surface the tightness starts to get uncomfortable anfter a few minutes. You are very right though... once underwater, I forget all about it.

Most people cut them way too tight. Its not a bad thing if occasionally air can sneak out the neck seal. No water will get in. A neck seal too tight can/has/and will kill. Consult your LDS for help adjusting it.

i just got my seals done by Steve "the Drysuit Guru" Gamble, and I am passing on what the said to me. http://www.gamblescuba.com/

if the seal relaxes under water, you should be ok. if you're still feeling the pressure, it's too tight.

my seals were cut so lose the time before that i kept getting wet (that's why i went to Gamble .. well, partly why)

I have to agree with the above posts. Neck seals take awhile to get used to, but they should not be a miserable exsistance either. If your seal is still uncomfortable under water, you should take off another ring.

sweet!

gotta enjoy your diving =)
