I've never been to Hydes Quarry and wanted to see how it compares to Millbrook and Lake Pheonix as far as temps and visibility. I live in Northern Va so it closer than Pheonix and be a better option than Millbrook.
 
It's a quarry, it gets cold in the winter, warms up slowly thru the summer - peak temps are usually Sept/Oct.

Water temps were 42°F on 1/1/17. Usually we're seeing it hit 70's by June-ish? Really depends on the weather though.

Viz is all over the maps. No zebra mussels to clear the water, so it can range from great to murky.

We're still diving over the winter - by appointment though. Call Undersea Outfitters @ 410-517-4999 to arrange time.
