Check weight distribution. Check trim. BC loose and shifted. BC not balancing air. Tank shift. Democrat. Just new and don't have balance yet.
The instructor should have been able to identify the problem and the solution. A good instructor will be a patient helpful person. They should be inspiring and not degrading. Choose a competent inspiring instructor it make all the difference to get a great start and strong base for diving with competence and confidence.
