Can anyone help ID? Is the top photo a baby corkscrew anemone? It was found in the sand pretty close to the start of the coral but not right up against it. It was about 1 1/2" long and was off the reef nearby the USS Kittiwake. The other photo I am wondering what the sawed off icicle looking growths are on the the brown coral. This was found under one of the ledges on a mini-wall on the northwest side of Grand Cayman. Thanks in advance for any help!

I would say that the anemone is a Transparent Tube-Dwelling Anemone.

The white things, were they just in that one sponge? Looks like it could be a healing wound. I’ll check the books.

the white "icicles" sort of look like small barnacles - esp. the bottom one.

The white things were seen on more than that one sponge. Though always on sponges under ledges.

Banded Tube Anemone.
