Is a zoom gear needed for Sea&Sea RDX600d housing with 18-55mm lense?

Please can someone let me know if I need to purchase the zoom gear for the RDX600d with standard flat port if I am only going to be using it with a Canon T3i with standard 18 - 55mm IS lense (for the time being)?

I want to place an order for the housing and port but need to know whether to order the zoom gear as well.

Hi-
If you plan to use a zoom lens (like the 18-55mm) then it would require a zoom gear. You will need to order #SS-31119 zoom gear for the Canon 18-55mm lens.

As said, you need it for the zoom to function. If you don't want to adjust the focal length, you don't need it, but where's the fun in that? I have the 550 housing with an XSi and am also using the standard 18-55 for now and am quite pleased with the results. I think you'll be happy. Happy shooting.
