AGA is a Swedens leading prducer of industrial gas. And it was resently bought by the German Linde Gas. Anyhow AGA makes cylinders and lots of diving equipment as FFM, which are darn good, if i may say so.

my 2 cents

Right on, thanks...... Now the radio comm? which one to get? What does AGA stand for?

Do you guys like viking drysuits? Thanks, Skier

AGA is the generic term for the Interspiro MK II Divator mask.

I like the products and support from OTS communications, they make both ultra sonic and hard wire communications.

I only use Vikings vulkanized rubber suits but am very impressed with the quality. I have found what I feel are comparable quality (vulkanized) suits for less money but have Vikings suits over ten years old that show very little wear.

All my repair products are Viking as well...

Man, you don't have to answer to anyone but yourself... If you want to dive it for no other reason than gee-whiz factor go for it...(get the proper training just like any other piece of gear...)

Since the issue has come up FFM offers the user protection from the cold, allows the use of communications, allows the user to breathe through thier nose, and decreases jaw fatigue.

FFM also offers the diver protection when using high PPO2 (protection from drowning if convulsions...) I believe JJ is known to use one for 100% deco or has in the past if that makes any difference

Looks like a spin off thread has started...

Jeff,

Right on all counts except one, with the M 48 there are two air pockets one for the mask which also includes the nose, and the second for the pod, so it would be a bit of a bugger to breath through your nose.

Good point Chris, the M-48 has two separate compartments one like a traditional mask and the other a lower half mask.

So although you do not have to hold the regulator mouthpiece in you can not breathe through your nose with this mask.

A similar two compartment system is used with the SCUBAPRO and the Mantis, soft FFM designes so you can not breathe through your nose with them either...
