Is there a better dive log that works with my Suunto?

I'd had a problem with my Suunto Cobra 3 and OEM cable talking to MacDive. When I posed the question on the Suunto manufacturer's forum, I got a strange reply from the mftr's on-line rep. Seems that using 3rd party dive log software voids your Suunto warranty.

Buyer beware.

Oh ya .... the problem turned out to be with the cable itself, HARDWARE.

How does the software you use have any impact on the computer and how could they even determine that as the cause of a problem?

I've been using MacDive with Suunto computers for several years now, and I love MacDive.

I didn't realize there was one coming out.
I finally downloaded subsurface and it seems ok. I haven't had a lot of time to play around with everything on it yet but I did import all of my dives into it.


24March: Tried syncing my D4i with it... doesn't seem to work and the help file doesn't work very well either. Starting to give up on this and thinking about just ponying up and getting DivingLog 5.0.

I love DivingLog 5.0. I can sync it with all of my devices (computer, phone & tablet). I don't leave home without my divelog.

So your dives are in there from your computer?

Try ticking the first three boxes (all except save libdivcomputer logfile) and try again.

Dives are imported from DM4 per the instructions. But it wouldn't sync with my dive computer.
