We've had an "interesting" summer here in SoCal due to these storms... rain (during the dry season), swell and surge.
 
It does look like he is pumping moisture into the AZ-NM border. As he continues to move NNW, perhaps he'll send more as he starts breaking up. I doubt he'll send much to my side of the Rockies. Here's a pic of the recent action. Well, I tried to load it as an animated GIF, but I think the size forced it to Jpeg...

Doing the happy rain dance. 60% chance tomorrow!
Draw a turtle in the dirt/sand with a stick, then leave the stick poking it in the middle. If it rains, you know it worked. If it doesn't, take drawing lessons. :D
