Went to Aruba 8-10-02 / 8-17-02 & had a blast. Stayed at the Tam. Which is nice because every room is an ocean view. Thought the food was good too. We dove with Native Diver & were very pleased. It's a small 1 man operation, so he's very flexible w/ time going out, sites, etc... It was very, very windy there. Which made for rough seas. So unfortunatly, we didn't get to dive some of the places that were on our top 10 list. Did get to see the Antilla wreck, Arashi reef, Sonesta plane wreck, Debbie II wreck, Malmok reef, Pedernalis wreck. We also did a shore dive at night. Romeo, the divemaster, called it Rocky Beach. Before we could get into the water we were almost devoured by mosquitoes. It was unbelievable. No mosq. problems at hotel-only at this night dive.
The reefs are small, not to spectacular. But I'm spoiled because of Coz. We saw the usuall assortment of eels, lobsters & fish. But the best was at the Arashi reef. A very big turtle sitting on the floor. We got about 3 feet away from him before he swam off. It was really great. Lots to see topside too. And the people are very friendly.
