My wife and I just got a small 19' boat. We'd like to use it to go diving out close to the shore anywhere between Riviera Beach to Key Largo. Mostly concentrating in Fort Lauderdale since that's where we live.

We'd like your input of where all of the permanent moorings are located so that we can hook up our boat on. I'm aware of Hall of Fame Moorings, Oakland Moorings, Twin Ledge Moorings.

Can you tell me the rest of the moorings in the area, please? I'll find the GPS coordinates somewhere if you're not sure. I just need the names.

Thanks & much appreciated!

BTW I got these off Google within seconds using "mooring buoys" and the locations. You can do the same using "artificial reefs" for wrecks. Just sayin'. :)

Yeah, but you're a lie berrian. It's what you do! :cool2:

Not so, Joyce. Google is what the masses do. Lie-berrians have SECRET sources. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

PS-- When you leave someone on the boat as you dive make sure it is someone who can pull the mourning / anchor and operate the boat to come get you if need be. I have seen divers swept off with the current and their bikini clad hottie throwing a rope about 5' when the divers where 50' away.

You can always invite a local Instructor to guide you to these and even more secret spots.

Just sayin'.... PM me...

Dude, you should take Wes up on his offer. There is probably no person more fun to dive with in SoFla than Wes!

Please take this excellent advice. The current on the reef in SoFlo can kick your butt!

Just last mini-season we had to go rescue a couple of guys who drifted really far from their boat, they left a dude on their boat who had NO CLUE how to start the boat or pull the anchor. Lucky for them it was mini-season and there were lots of people around to pick them up and take them back to the boat.

Don't leave your boat unattended, either. It totally sucks if your boat becomes unmoored and floats away while you're diving. Truly, it can ruin your day.
