A couple of questions for you avid kayak divers:

Is there ever a time when you leave the yak at home/on the car/on the beach and swim to the site to do a shore dive?

Or, is it that if you are going to do a shore/beach dive you always use a kayak?

Just curious.

Thanks

yes

no

Short and sweet...I like it.

Sorry, let me be a little more specific:

Is there ever a time when you leave the kayak at home/on the car/or on the beach and swim to the dive site from shore? If so, why? What determines if you swim or kayak? Is it sea conditions, what you are in the mood for, accessibility, etc?

Thanks

Sometimes my buds have chosen a dive site where I'm not permitted to launch a kayak. If I want to join them, I need to leave it in the garage.

I've known other people to make a beach dive sans kayak if the seas are diveable but a bit too sporty for handling the yak.
