Just back from Komodo, it was an awesome dive even no manta showing up(maybe bad timing) :shakehead:.
This trip is good oppotunity to test out the capability of GX1 and the nauticam housing.
Let's me give some simple review on this setup.
I only brought 2 lens with me for the entire trip, the 45mm macro and the 8mm fisheyes.
let's the picture do the talk

Start with Macro
Usually for macro, i use manual focus to achieved better focus on point of interest.
But my macro zoom gear can't make it on time for this trip.
So i had no choice but to stick with autofocus.
Supprisingly it was quite responsive and accurate.
I had no problem using on day time.
For night dive, i used it with sola 600 and it work perfectly.
Only when the red focus light was on, the screen become completely red and hardly to see the subject.

great shots.
what kind of aperture and shutter speed you use for macro?
no strobe?
how do you manual focus underwater?

i have nex-5 with nauticam, but there is zoom gear.
only to zoom obviously, no focus.

very nice.
are you using a wet diopter for the macro?
are those shots cropped? if so, how much?

thanks, chris

Almost all the macro shot was shoot with 160s and various F number from 2.8 to F16.
I'm using 2 Inon Z240 for macro and wide angle.
i still not using manual focus yet as the focus ring does not arrive in time.
basically it was same as zoom gear but it was use as manual focus.

Thanks, i had not try using macro diopter yet.
Even i did bring it with me during the dive.
The 45mm macro alone is enough to cover most subject unless i was hoping to do super macro.
Some of the shot did crop and rotate to get better composition.
the most serious crop is about ~30%

Gorgeous!
Thanks :D

Here come the wide angle
Basically i'm not sure is design problem or whatm
When GX1 with 8mm Fisheyes couple with dome port.
It show vignetting in normal 4:3 mode.
I had to switch it to 16:9 to get rid of the shadow causing by the dome shade.
And the flash sync speed is lock at 160s, it's kinda difficult to shoot backlight or sunburst shot.

Really great pictures ! Thanks for sharing!
How was the bouyancy of the system with the 2 inon strobe? Did it change a lot from the WA to the macro setup?

Thanks :)
it's was slight heavy compare to my previous setup with ikelite S90.
After this trip, i will add maybe 2 float stix to make it more bouyant.
The dome port is small and it does not affect much when change from macro to WA.
