Lauderdale by the Sea photo ops

I know BHB gets the attention, but there are some interesting things to be found right off the beach at Lauderdale by the Sea.

They just wrapped up their Bugfest photo contest: http://www.mylbts.com/bugfest and some of the pictures were amazing, including the seahorse shot (my fave).

Those who know me know my picture taking involves more enthusiasm than actual skill, and while I wasn't good enough to hit the winners circle for marine life (because the folks who did win quite simply had better pictures) it sure was fun to try.

Just because I wanted to post them somewhere, here are a few pics taken this past week. I wouldn't mind seeing this thread turn into something like the BHB thread where photos get posted regularly from LBTS beach dives....

We were going to dive LBTS last Dec, but the week before we left I ended up with a mild case of pneumonia, both doc and DAN said diving was off. We did manage to snorkel in Key Largo and LBTS though. Maybe next time we will get to dive it. Fished a lot off the pier and had fun. Great pix.

Great idea!

I don't get over there too often, simply because parking is such a PIA. But I love that dive and always see cool things.
