Well, I'm packing for Cozumel, and on a whim decided to see how much my Jets weigh .. 7 lbs. :11:

I'm not too worried about this trip ... it's only a bit more than week, and luggage restrictions aren't as bad here as in other parts of the world. But thinking ahead, I've got a month in Indonesia in the works for next year, and I'm downright certain I'll be having to pack much more conservatively for that trip.

So for you Jets users out there ... have you ever considered getting a lightweight pair of fins for travel? And if so, what did you settle on?

I've got a year to try out some different fins ... just looking for some ideas as to which ones I should be trying ...

How about a pair of OMS slipstreams? they are supposedley made out of a lighter material and are also more buoyant. havent tried them to compare to the jets though

I have not tried the Slipstreams myself, but it goes without saying, no guarantee that they perform same as the Jets. Infact, probably very unlikely. Not to say that they won't do well however.
I really would like to check out the DO Six Gills myself.

You could go with a pair of Force Fins. They pack very well and are very light. Totally different fin of course, but great for travel. I love my jets, but after playing with some Force Fins I want a pair for when I want to travel really light.

If you are going to be boat diving in warm water, a good full foot fin will be lighter, you don't need boots and you actually might like it better. Mares Avanti full foot models are popular.
