Diver drowns in Ha’apai
A diver, Tekitau Fifita (43) was drowned on Friday night, June 15 while out diving in Hihifo, Ha’apai, Tonga Police reported.

CIP Fisi’ilose from Ha'apai Police said today the victim went with his young brother diving around the reef south of Hihifo, when he went missing.

His body was recovered by the police on a beach at Holopeka village at around 6:00pm on Saturday, June 16.

An inquest held this morning confirmed drowning as the cause of death, he said.

The victim is from Matamaka in Vava'u but resided in Ha'ato'u, Ha'apai
