Hi all!

My friend is looking for a internship, around the seacoast area. Does anyone know any good internships? She is studying Marine Biology at UNH, loves working with marine mammals and would love to help in any way she can.

Thanks

Murray: In the sciences, there are fewer "traditional" internships than in many other fields. What your friend needs to do is look around her department and find a professor/lab that is doing research. She then needs to get involved with the research projects and gain experience learning how to do science that way. She should keep in mind that doing research in science is usually not a one-semester thing. Ideally she should get involved in the lab and put in a couple of years. She might also look for REU programs (Research Experiences for Undergraduates). These are paid programs that give students experience in a particular field of science. The REUs are quite competitive, but they often offer excellent training and experiences.

Thanks for the info, I will pass it along!
