P.S. to answer my original question, the V&B insurance through my store covered TDI courses at no additional charge, and TDI/SDI member dues are very reasonable.

I find this quite interesting. When I was a PADI DM and had V&B insurance, I called to see if I could just upgrade to the instructor level insurance as I was looking to become an SDI instructor. They told me that they only cover PADI instructor level courses so I could not upgrade.

I dropped them at the end of the policy and went to Willis and have coverage now for all my agency pro level certifications. Seems like a bad marketing strategy to me as an insurance company. They basically lost a customer because I wasn't going to teach PADI courses at the OWSI level or higher.
