One of the group I was with at Casino Point this weekend lost a Sea-Doo DPV. Unfortunately the scooter in question a) belonged to someone else and b) wasn't marked with any identifying information. Since it is positively buoyant and there was a pretty good current running, it's probably long gone. Still, if anyone should happen to find it, please contact me for a reward and some hearty thanks.

Why was it positively bouyent, and why was it not tied off to the diver????

hmmm... If I were to, say, hypothetically find this scooter, is the reward greater than what it would cost for me to purchase a similar scooter?

It was (slightly) positive because that's how some scooters are built, just like some cameras. I don't know why it wasn't tethered, since I wasn't using it.

Although I'm one who thinks DPV's should not be allowed in the park, at least on weekends, I'm sorry to hear that. If I get word from the harbor department or anyone else here, I'll let you know. I assume it was reported lost to the harbor and sheriffs depts.

Thanks, Dr. Bill. It was reported, and there was a boat out looking for it for a while.

I asked several local divers to keep an eye out for it too.
