Macro Lens Question

I have the edge and I am getting the macro lens for an upcoming trip. I was wondering if you can put the macro lens on when you're already underwater or would water get trapped behind it and mess up the picture? I leave in a week so if someone could let me know before then that would be great. Thanks

The lens is a “wet lens”. Designed to be installed and removed in the water. If you install on land there is the possibility of air bubbles getting trapped inside and marring the image.
