Marathon dive sites?

My wife and I are renting a house for 10 days in Key Colony Beach May 19-29 and we will have our 21 foot boat. Conditions permitting we plan to do some shallow water (20-30') diving from our boat. We are both UW photographers. I have done some research regarding dive sites around Marathon and I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for shallow water dive sites for photographers? How early in the morning do you have to get to Sombrero lighthouse/reef to get a mooring ball? Are any of the small wrecks on the Gulf side worth visiting or is the vis normally too poor on the Gulf side to be worthwhile?

I assume we will be using Abyss for several (deeper) dive trips as well.
