There seems to be some confusion between the Mares website (North America) and manual concerning Nitrox on several of the regulators. For example the Proton 12 the manual says "yes" up to 40%, but the website (Tech Infos tab) says "No".

So which is it?

they're not approved for Nitrox in Europe, so there might be some confusion on the website.

the manual says that they are approved for up to 40% Nitrox outside Europe

Everything is approved for up toi 40% (at least in the USA):

"Standard scuba equipment is approved for use with nitrox up to 40% oxygen content." Lang, M.A. (ed.) 2000. Proc. of the DAN Nitrox Workshop. Divers Alert Network, Durham, NC. 197 p.

The EU regulations regarding Nirtox are very different from those of North America. Your reg is fine for mixes up to 40%.

All of the above answers are correct. Our manual covers this, we need to clarify this on the web site also. I will work on it.

Thanks,

Phil
