The tank graphic takes up way too much real estate for so little actual information. It's a waste of space. Another option would be a small colored circle.

I love your idea of the circle. That is becoming a popular UI with fitness and health apps on mobiles and watches. The space taken by the tank using a circle that changes colors as it opens up plus larger numbers would have been the perfect Icon.
