So mares came out with a new model. The ad says softer but more thrust - but is it any good or is it just a softcore version of the old ones? It seems shorter and less wide. Does it allow for quick-acceleration to catch, say, runaway students?

I've dove with Atomic splits for a while and honestly grew tired of their wishy-washy feel. Sure you can go fast over distance but who needs that? What I want from a fin is control, power in the face of current and the ability to make a quick lunge now and again. I'm sensibly back to jets but is contemplating a more tropical type fin II just for the hell of it.

So how do you feel about it - anyone try it out?

Haven't - Cheers!
