Can anybody tell me if the MAres R2 reg is considered balanced reg? What is its performance like?

Thanks!

The R2 first stage is an unbalanced piston. It's simple and rugged. I've got one with the Nikos 2nd and like it. It breathes well. Rodale's listed the R2/Nikos as a testers choice and a best buy. The R2/Axis should be similar in performance.

Bought it a year ago, dove it to 85' in West Palm Beach in March and it performed perfectly. Great performance, great price.

I dive the MR12 and I've looked at the MR2 also. The only thing I see as a problem is the MR2 has 3 LP posts instead of 4 like the MR12. I suppose this might be a problem if you want to wear a drysuit and you dont want to have to have a seperate reg for it.

Also the MR12 is only a little more money.
