Hello all - Dave and Gretchen from Littleton, CO and just getting certified. Gonna head to French Polynesia late January.

Lots to learn!

Consider doing a SB Invasion or Surge - I learned more on my 1st trip then my previous 100+ dives. Nitrox is usually offered gratis as is Pete's Trim & Buoyancy class. AOW at a very reasonable cost. I didn't know what good diving looked like until that 1st Roatan trip back in '14. You've found this forum so are on the right track.

Welcome on board! French Polynesia? What a way to start your diving :) Have fun and dive safe.

I see no reason FP should be "substituted" for Roatan etc - as long as the OP isn't planning on shooting the passes at Rangiroa and Fakarava the diving in the societies Moorea and BB is some of the most benign gentle easy current free water you can come across.

Just try to avoid top dive.

howdy and welcome from southeast florida.....

Welcome! its awesome that you get to dive together.
Wish i could get my lady to come with me but she is really scared of fish

Congratulations!!! Sharing a sport activity with your life partner is awesome!! We fully understand your feeling as we have taught a lot of couples who currently are enjoying diving around the globe.
Totally agree with some opinions. Take it easy on your next dives and build up your confidence underwater with less challenging dives!! There is plenty of time for you two to discover new and more challenging places!!

If you ever plan a trip to Indonesia let us know and we would gladly help you!!

Buen Azul!!

Welcome to ScubaBoard and congratulations on getting certified. WONDERFUL to have to dive with a spouse.

Welcome aboard. I'm totally jealous. I always plan to go diving in French Polynesia but life keeps getting in the way. :)
