Quite frankly, I am fairly certain the OP was not in fact talking about ED. If they were, then they no longer have any privacy concerns with the form because their dirty laundry is now public record with 100,000+ ScubaBoard subscribers plus the billions of people with access to Google :D.

Worry less, Dive more. People are reading WAY too much into the fun that the shop keepers will have at their expense.
You are too busy writing to read. A few posts up I copy-and-pasted from the OP's early posts, where he did, in fact, indicate that his concern was a Viagra prescription. The OP posted under the name Radcat. Assuming his parents didn't name him Radcat, his privacy has not been compromised by posting here.

The fact that you yourself have no privacy concerns whatsoever is not very relevant to the discussion, although you may find it interesting. You are in a distinct minority on both counts. Most people do value their privacy somewhat--obviously some more than others--and the discussion is about what tradeoffs are reasonable in that regard.

I dive plenty, thanks. Actually, you might be surprised at some of the information I have learned about other customers from dive store owners who like to gossip. I imagine if a customer showed up and mentioned an embarrassing medical condition, it could quite easily be gossiped about. If you think otherwise, you are very naive.

No I actually did read that. And if you believe everything you read on the internet, then have fun. As my statement went..."I am fairly certain that....". I did not state that this was a personal guarantee. You chose to take it that way. I interpereted the OP's posts in a manner that I believed made sense under the circumstances. Error? Maybe, maybe not. You are somewhat correct about his privacy not being totally broken however if I am really that concerned about something like that, I would not post it uner any alias. Perhaps I am unique in this way, but I do not believe I am.

Again, 22 pages have been spent on something that makes no difference. I ask this. Is there anybody out there that has absolute proof that these forms have ever been misused in any way? If someone is that concerned about their privacy, maybe they should just build a hut in the forest and never leave it.

Then you have now just admitted to being part of the problem. Thanks for making that clear.

I have never gossiped about a customer. I actually complained about them giving out such information to me. How exactly am I part of the problem then?

The RSTC form does not ask you to name any prescription medications.

True. What do they do after you check "yes" to the question, "Are you presently taking prescription medicines"?

Do you have absolute proof they have not?

Nope but I do hope that the shop that misuses my information at least enjoys it.
