Hi Guys, potential newbie diver here with a probably obvious question...so I’m sorry for being annoying!

Three years ago I tried to take my PADI open water course but due to equalisation problems I couldn’t finish. I had a ‘yes’ on my medical (minor issues) so went and got a doctors sign off. Due to life/work commitments I never got around to finishing my cert. My boyfriend is a NASE diver and I’ve really become inspired to try diving again through NASE. I know its a different agency, but is my doctors medical still valid or do I need to get a new one?

The industry standard on medical signoffs is that they are good for 1 year unless you have a medical incident that could impact your diving fitness. In this case, with your medical being 3 years old, you'd likely need to get a new one unless the yes is no longer a yes and you can now answer no on all of the questions.
