Baptist Lake in south eastern Newaygo County is one of the favorite hot spots on the west side. That and Gull Lake are very clear lakes.

Baptist is 65ft deep 85 acres in size. It's an all-sports lake so boat traffic picks up on the weekends in the summer. Best dives are "usually" Thursdays in the summer. This time of year it's crystal clear but not many fish out and about. In the fall the lake has fresh-water jelly fish (very cool).
There is also a lined navigation course and sunken boats where most of the lines connect. A couple LDS's use this location to do all their OW dives and training. One line goes all the way to the deepest part of the lake. Maps of the UW Nav course can be purchased at American Dive Zone and Moby's Dive Shop I believe.
Two biggest dive days are Thursday nights and Sunday Mornings. Pretty easy to find someone or a group to do dive with.

Closest place to fill a tank is Moby's Dive Shop.
