I purchased an MLS2 can and 50W halogen light very inexpensively used. Has anyone who has one of these modified the way that the head connects to the batteries?

My idea is to use a connector that only allows the light head and charger to be connected one way similar to a 2 conductor trailer connector so that I can break the canister down to MLS1 size and just buy a regular battery without the whole battery tray and rig something to hold the battery in place.

I also do not like the existing setup with the 2 metal tabs because when I do a burn test I have to keep unscrewing the lid to test the voltage of the battery.

Has anyone done this and if so do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
