I dive the Atlantic off of NJ. I'm usually grabbing lobster and shoting fluke, black bass etc....
Last weekend I had the opportunity to shoot a huge monk fisk off of the Ida K wreck.
I didn't because I've heard that if you hit a certain part on their head the spear won't penetrate and monk fish are known to come after you if not shot and handled properly.
Does anyone have any experience with these fish. I would really like to start shooting them on my dives..
