I've contacted a couple of the dive shops that use the lake and they are going to explain to VEPCO how they use the lake for training fire fighters, police officers and boosting the local economy with sales, classes, campground fees, the local restaurant and hotel near the lake. Many divers use the campground and hotel for diving purposes. I'm sure divers use these things more than boaters. At any rate divers are definitely contributing more economically than the price of annual fishing and boating license fees.

So is Mt. Storm open for diving, im heading up there this weekend.

While planning a trip to Mt Storm one of my Divemasters came across the Dominion and WV-DNR websites that still maintain a no shore diving stance. I contacted Mr Ford, the current director of the Mt Storm Power Station today. He shot back a quick response stating that the matter will be discussed next week (March 5-9th) with WV-DNR. I will post again when I hear anything.

Thanks guys.
