after four years of diving..
'finally saw my first Harlequin Shrimp!
and also realized the err of my ways
all the photos i've seen (especially a cover shot on a "famous" book)
must've been close-up macros.. making the "shrimp" appear much much larger!
(hence, i was always looking for hand-sized specimens)
in actuality (at least the pair i saw today) they're only the size of a penny!
"bcyber" dave found 'em hiding in some antler coral..
i didn't crop these so you could get a better idea of the scale..
mahalo to bcyber and the "emmy-lou"
who took me and lonnie out of waianae to dive the sites twin-caves and turtles.
great diving today! tho' needed wind-breakers and sweatshirts to keep warm
here're some scorpions we also saw today..
and a couple tiger cowries..
