First. Johnny Richards has not been authorized to issue NACD certifications for some time and this has not changed nor has his photo appeared for an equal period of time on the NACD Instructor page NACD Instructors

The Board of Directors, meeting in executive session on October 17, 2012, considered a complaint received regarding Bill Lester and a website that he hosted. The website in question is not associated with the NACD. The NACD Board of Directors was not aware of the existence of the offending content on the website until it had already been taken down. At the time Mr. Lester held the position of Journal Editor. Mr. Lester is not the webmaster of the website of the NACD. Nevertheless, even though Mr. Lester's actions were undertaken as a private person, unrelated to any position with NACD, the Board of Directors of the NACD found his actions to have brought controversy to the NACD. Without commenting on his personal or constitutional right to post the material which some found to be objectionable, the Board of the NACD holds Mr. Lester to a higher standard of professional conduct, and has voted, unanimously, to remove Mr. Lester from the positions of Journal Editor and Chairman of the Science and Technology Committee.
