When Bay Area divers plan tropical dive trips, they often
forget the tropical diving on their doorstep: the Sea of
Cortez. It's a land of stark contrasts -- cactus and bare
rock tower over waters teeming with life. You'll find a
mixture of the familiar and new, from sea lions and
pufferfish to giant hawkfish, tube blennies, and more
varieties of grunts than you thought existed.

Join Mike Boom as he presents video about two dive trips
south of the border, one to the Midriff Islands in the
northern Sea of Cortez, another to the La Paz area and Cabo
Pulmo in the south. Mike spent time time on two different
live-aboards and one land-based resort, and has footage to
share from all of them.

Mike will also present some video shorts from trips to Raja
Ampat and the Philippines, and is happy to be grilled about
video equipment and techniques and about life on-board
ships being forced to eat too much food.
