Hi All,
Wanted to let all the divers living in Cambodia know that there is a new dive club being formed; the Mekong Diver's Social Club.
The club is not affiliated with any dive company/shop or agency and welcomes all divers!
Mekong Divers was formed with the purpose of bringing together the local dive community and encouraging adventuresome divers to take the path less traveled by diving the most important waterway in the region; the big muddy Mekong! While Provisional/Support Membership is open to all, those bold enough to be branded full Mekong Divers are required to have completed a qualifying dive on the Mekong or major tributary. Mekong Divers will hold a qualification dive event this dry season (likely sometime in January depending on the currents and water level) for those wishing to take the challenge.
An inaugural (informal) get together for drinks will take place at the Le Moon Bar located on the roof terrace of the hotel Amanjaya (K-West), 6pm on Wednesday, September 21st. We also encourage all divers (members or not) to come and meet other divers living in Phnom Penh to exchange ideas, or just have a good chat.
Monthly meetings (also open to all) are subsequently planned for the third Wednesday of every month.
