Hello all. Just started spear fishing. I like it under the water so much I want to start scuba diving as well. Also thinking it would be much better for me to go down slower to help equalize. I'm having problems with my ears.

Would like a dive doc recommendation as well as a place to get certified. I live in Middlebury CT. I fish in RI a lot. Anywhere from CT to RI for either doc or certification recommendation is much appreciated.

Thank you

Jay

The best instructor I know of in this part of the world is Ed Hayes of the Scuba Shack in Rocky Hills, just south of Hartford. I've taken his Buoyancy I and II classes and traveled with them several times to Mexico and the Caribbean, good people to hang out with.
