Vision: Prior to Lasek surgery, my nearsightedness cause me to see pretty much perfectly while snorkeling (refraction and all that explained above). Now, I don't see as well, because at my age reading glasses are needed. My vision is no longer nearsighted, so underwater I don't see the gauges so well up close (but good enough). So, you have to see what your vision is like underwater with a normal mask before looking at contacts or a prescription one.
