Hi

When you use the Nikon 105VR underwater
do you turn the VR on or off?

Thanks, Hezi

I use VR. It is supposed to help with camera shake. But unless you plonk down on the bottom, which is not good for the reef, you are going to move relative to the subject because of current, surge, and not absolutely perfect buoyancy. My synch shutter speed is about 1/250 which is about ok for freeze action for a 105 lens. I figure that since most of the light comes from the strobe, that should handle most of the freeze action. The biggest issues with the 105 are focus and depth of field.
