Just curious why O'ahu has a much higher population density than any of the other Hawaiian Islands?

Pretty much because it's always been where all the jobs are for the aforementioned reasons.

Wai Momi (pearl water) and Waikiki (spouting fresh water) are among reasons Oahu has long been "the Gathering Place."

In the early 1840's, Kamehameha III (born Kauikeaouli) moved the Kingdom of Hawaii's capital from Lahaina to Honolulu.

Easy, abundant protected water and fresh water are likely the main reasons. Kauai and Maui have (had) wetter rain regions, but using the fresh water was (is) easier on Oahu.
