I sometimes bump my head on the 1st stage of my Aqualung Legend LX regulator. I have a Halcyon Eclipse bp/w and I strap it on the tank as high as possible. A dive instructor suggested I flip the 1st stage to get an extra inch +- of clearance. Is there any reason not to give it a try? Is the performance of the 1st stage effected by its orientation?

It'll work fine in any orientation. You'll have to move the hoses around, of course.

It's marketed up-side-down. You'll just be turning it right-side-up.

I've done that since about 2000 with my regs. (Atomics) I find the hoses route better and there's less to hit on something above your head in a swim-thru.

Wear the tank upside down....

Jim...

All will be fine, just wait for a know it all to correct you........

Have the same regs. They've been pointing "down" since the very first dive with no problems... since that's the way they SHOULD be oriented.

Yes, you can flip it, I did so for my wife's Legend. N

for many years I wore my reg with the tank pointed backward away from me. Changed because I was tired of hearing that my tank was backward. It won't make any difference how you orient it
