The Olympus C8080 with a PT-023 housing soon to follow.

And no lottery in Hawaii for me to win :crying:

Man that is a beast of a camera.

Sweet Camera! I'm sure it has my name on it somewhere....I just can't seem to find a price...what are we looking at here?

Gilligan:
I saw a MSRP of $999.00 on one website.
Keep an eye on Yuzo's website as he sells the cameras when the housings come out.
With 8MB Pictures, what size media would one need? Are they also bringing a 1GIG xd on the market? Would the pictures need a long time to upload to the copumter? How would that effect processing time?

Saw the camers discussed in DPReview.com Think Olympus is planning on releasing the camera in April. This is the first I heard about the housing. Where did you hear about the housing?

I saw the first announcement of the housing on DigitalDiver.net. A link from DPreview I think.

Boy, it's going to be tough to decide between this and the Canon Pro 1 later this spring/summer. The Canon has a 7X zoom lens and does super macro down to 1.5 inches. Olympus is further going to confuse the issue when the Pro 88 (think I saw a mention of this camera) comes out.

I'm glad I didn't upgrade in the last couple of months. By the time all the production model reviews are in I might be able to think about saving up for one of these or say the new Nikon DSLR.

I guess this just gives more credence to the saying, "The best time to buy a computer is NEVER." (or a computerized camera).

I just can't believe how fast technology advances!

Sweet looking camera though, looks somewhat smaller than the 5050.

Hello All
Realy the model change of Digital cameras are so often. The body size of C-8080 is
124mm(W) x 84.5mm(H) x 99mm(D) , and C-5060 is 116mm x 87mm x 66.5mm, C8080 is a little bigger than C5060. In Japan, the target release date is 19, March. and the retail price is open price, but it will be about 118,000JPY-128,000JPy. So $999 in U.S is good price.
And PT-023 for C-8080, its target release date is Apr. and 31,000JPY. OLYMPUS showed only the picture from the front at their news, but this camera has big depth,
and 5x optical zoom ,so the zoom extension is longer than C5060. and the bult-in strobe is the retract type.
I have not seen the real PT-023 yet, but I can guess easy that will be fairly big housing.
But C-8080 is highly regarded in other 8M class cameras.
