Olympus E-5 Housing

I found a Nexus housing for the Olympus E-5 on the Fun-in Taiwan site that is taking orders. I contacted the local Nexus supplier and they did not think that Nexus would be making a housing for the E-5. Does anyone have any feedback on the Fun-in Taiwan store? I'm a little weary about sending $3k overseas.

Brian - Fun-in is a fair sized company that has been in operation for a few years. I have looked at their site for stuff but never bought from them.

I think that they are taking orders for a new housing that is not available yet. There is no mention of it on the Nexus Asia site, Anthis Japan (manufacture Nexus) or even on Fun in. The only housing mentioned is the E-3.

I would wait and see what gets announced.

Note: just saw this from Phil Rudin "Nexus has also announced the release of a new housing for the Olympus E-5 which would work with your ports and lenses with the optional Olympus port adapter. This housing will sell for around $3200.00 US with the port adapter." So it looks like it is happening.

Fun-In e-mailed me to say that they should have housings by the end of the month and be able to ship out early February. I'm hoping to put in an order in about a month but still have that little voice in my head questioning the future of 4/3 but I have enough invested in lenses and ports at this point that it would be really expensive to switch brands now.

I am also trying to get the housing for the E5 and live in Hong Kong . I am trying to get it either through Singapore at the moment and am awaiting a reply as to the order times and availability. I know you can get it out of Japan direct off one of the Japanese websites will send through the address if you are interested. Scuba Symphony in Malaysia have also told me that they could get it. But at the end of the day you may be better off just waiting till it becomes available in the US. I have found that a lot of times the cost of this equipment is cheaper in the US. I would say that more than half of my underwater gear was bought in the US. Let me know if I can help.

I got the Nexus E-3 housing which I no longer own from, Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater Photo Pros and I expect they will be able to order this housing when it ships to the US.

if you are looking for the case divervison has them. I just got mine. There service is great. They said it would take two weeks to order and kept me informed of everything I needed to know and helped out with some after sales questions.
Would recommend them. They take pay pal which makes things a lot easier.
