They started the investigation.
According to this source the tanks were filled with air, no trimix.

According to this other source, which is quoting a local diver who knows the wreck, the wreck starts at 78 but to explore it you need to go down to 90 (all meters no feet!) and the body of the missing diver has been recovered below 80.

Also by checking the computer of the first diver (the one skipping deco) he went to 86 for 16 minutes. On air. Doing overhead.
I will stop commenting here. We already discussed at length deep air diving i another thread which has been split, so I will not start again.
But one of the rules of Exley's Blue Print for survival (n.3 Avoid Deep Diving in Caves), which should be now read Avoid Deep Diving on Air in Overhead explains it fully in my view.

It is an excellent read, written by one of the giant of this sport, even if outdated contains a lot of excellent advice for people adventuring beyond the usual limits of recreational/sport diving.
