Does the PADI Rescue Diver Course have swim requirements or is it all just skills exercises?
    Thanks.

Yup, sorry, but thats the requisites. Am working on my fitness as well. Am looking to score maximum points and need to complete it all in one day. Am going to be a a tired puppy at the end of it.

    Stamina Assessment and
    Development
There are four exercises that evaluate
    stamina and waterskills, each rated
by points. There is no passing score
for any single exercise, but a
combined score of 12 or more is
    required prior to certification. In
addition, candidates must complete all exercises prior to certification.

This will make it seem a bit better i think. It explains the pass mark.

I only had to do the tired diver tow requirement. also egress with an unconcious diver and similar requirements. however, no official swimming requirements...

it's a great course... you learn a lot and have fun

Hi Mogwai, the requirements you state are actually the stamina exercises for the Divemaster course. Daphne, don't worry, these are not requirements on the rescue course.
Take it easy on the course and enjoy it, it's great fun.

Ooops, sorry, have just realised i am reading the wrong thing. Think a bit of pasting and copying went wrong when i got sent this. Is a bit mentioning rescue diver at the start of what i have received. All this time i have been reading it wrong. Ah well, at least i now have more time to bring my fitness up even more. Doh. :sorry19z: Must remember what my old english teacher told me: "read what you see not what you think you see"

These sound like padi divemaster requirements.

I have completed padi rescue and can confirm there is no swim test.

Maybe you are confusing ssac and padi mogwai?
