We tried to sneak in a dive before the rain this weekend, but we should have stayed home. The surface water at Hermosa Beach Artificial Reef was green, dark, choppy and full of junk. It only got marginally better on the reef.

No Giant Sea Bass were spotted, but we would not have been able to get photos anyway in the green soup. Reports from Palos Verdes and the Los Angeles Breakwater were similar today. Looks like more dry days ahead.

But, Phil, plankton means productivity and oxygen!
