A study found microplastics in 83% of the world’s tap water. The water samples were from more than 12 countries on five continents, including the United States. Plastic contamination was found in 94% of U.S. water samples. The microplastics could be from many sources, including synthetic clothing fibers, microbeads from beauty products, rubber tire dust, or larger plastic pieces breaking down. Some 300 million tons of plastic are produced annually. The effects of microplastics on humans has yet to be studied.

there are 193 countries in the world 12 were tested how does that equate to 83% unless it means 83% of those 12 that were tested- either way its misleading headlines

Plastic waste is a huge problem all over the world.
We, as divers, have direct contact with this waste, as we see under the water surface.
Many people think that the water surface is like a carpet. The dust can be hidden under this carpet. Nothing more wrong than this. Water pollution reach all us via tap water, food and air.
