Got some u/w filters for my GoPro. Is the magenta one the correct one to use when diving Puget Sound & Hood Canal?
 
I realize this is an old thread, but I'd love to know the answer to this question. The filter set doesn't really have a description for "cold, nutrient-rich seawater."

What have local divers found most useful?
 
Yep, magenta is generally the right color for ambient-light photos and videos in PNW waters.

You may find, however, that below about 30ft the filter makes things too dark. Most photographers don't use a filter and instead have attached strobes or lights. I spent a lot on a nice magenta filter and have only used it a few times, always with disappointing results.
