I've not been to Portage for about 3 years but noticed their website says not open for diving. All events for the 2015 season are cancelled. Anyone know why?

My dive buddy and I just came back from snorkeling at portage. We went there to dive. The guy at the gate said that today was the last day we could swim but not dive, so $6.00 apiece allowed us in and we stretched the swimming to include snorkeling. Apparently the owners of the quarry are going to build a warehouse on the camping parking lot and close the quarry to other activities, including scuba.
